Now, Marvel has revealed that alongside each one-shot will be Giant-Sized variant covers. These will show off some of the deadliest villains of the Marvel Universe. These new Giant-Sized one-shots are in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the original series. Back in the 1970s, Marvel released Giant-Size Super-Stars #1, kicking off a series of larger-than-life issues. Over the next 50 years, these Giant-Sized comics celebrated some of Marvel’s biggest moments.

Now, Marvel is bringing the series back to honor the anniversary. Throughout 2024, new Giant-Size issues will feature new stories with some of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe. These new stories will be accompanied by reprints of some of the most influential and popular stories throughout Marvel.

Cody Ziglar and Iban Coello’s Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 is the first large issue to be released. It features a new story with Miles Morales facing off against Dylan Brock. It also features a reprint of Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #22. With Miles behind the mask, the Giant-Size variant shows off some of Miles’ biggest foes from the original Ultimate Universe. This includes the Ultimate version of the Green Goblin and The Maker.

Miles Morales is not the only hero taking on a new giant adventure. Throughout the year, Marvel is releasing Giant-Size Hulk #1, Giant-Size Daredevil #1, and Giant-Size X-Men #1. That also means that each of these heroes will be getting the deadliest foes variant treatment. In fact, we already know that the X-Men will feature the villains from its Silver Age.

Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 is out on 1/10.
