In fact, it’s straightforward to defeat him if you know his combat mechanics and find powerful weapons. Read to the end to know what to expect and understand what strategy will be the best in this battle.
Alan Wake 2: Preparing for the Fight With Nightingale
As we mentioned above, fighting this boss will not be difficult if you know how to respond to his moveset and attack patterns. For this reason, we have selected a few tips that will help you in this battle:
- Stock up on medical kits and ammunition, as you will need quite a lot of them. If you are already in battle, then take the opportunity to pick up supplies that are lying on the ground in the arena. If you are out of ammo, you will have to resort to melee strikes.
- Use your flashlight to remove the shield from the enemy. If you do so, you will make him vulnerable and you can do a lot of damage by shooting at the weak spot, which will glow red.
- To make this tough fight much easier, you should find the sawed-off shotgun. With this weapon, you can cause a lot of damage and quickly chew through Nightingale’s health. If you don’t have a shotgun, you will just have to rely on your pistol.
- If Nightingale disappears from view and you see a black or red whirlwind instead, run away from that location ASAP.
So, now that you know more about the enemy, you can confidently go into battle well-prepared.
Alan Wake 2: How to Kill Nightingale Fast
The best method of dealing with this boss is the hit-and-run tactic. Although the boss has 3 different phases, it will not be difficult to kill him because all that will change is his speed and attack power. Your main goal will be to make the most rational use of ammo and battery charge. Wait for the enemy to perform an attack – he may try to hit you with a branch once or twice – then take out the flashlight and blind him.
If you do everything right, you can not only remove the shield but also stun the enemy, which will allow you to take several critical shots at the weak point and head. By repeating this strategy you should have no trouble beating Nightingale and continuing with your investigation.
Alan Wake 2 is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
