This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Pokemon Go is a place where you can catch Pokemon from different Gens and regions. And with each event, Niantic adds new pocket monsters to the game. For example, during the Halloween 2023 event, they added Houndstone in Pokemon Go. This Ghost-type Pokemon fits the Halloween theme perfectly. In addition, it will help you complete your Paldea Pokédex. But getting it can be quite hard, especially after the end of the event.

Before you can get Houndstone in Pokemon Go, you need to catch its first form called Greavard. Both of these Pokemon first appeared in Pokemon Go during the Halloween Event 2023. And this is not surprising since they look like ghostly skeleton dogs. However, getting Greavard now can become a real challenge, as it could be obtained in three ways:

  • Complete Event-exclusive Field Research Tasks
  • During Three-Star Raids
  • Complete the Halloween Timed Research Quests

Unfortunately, all of these methods are no longer valid as the 2023 Halloween Event has come to an end. But like other Pokemon before it, Greavard will definitely return to Pokemon Go. In addition, you can use the trading system and try to trade with other players who get this Pokemon during the Halloween Event 2023.

How To Evolve Greavard Into Houndstone

If you managed to get Greavard during the Halloween event or trade with other players, then you can easily get Houndstone in Pokemon Go. Luckily, you don’t have to meet any complicated conditions like taking a certain amount of damage. Instead, you just have to feed Greavard with Candies so that it will evolve into Houndstone in Pokemon Go. To be more precise, you will need 50 Greavard Candy for evolving.

Houndstone Best Moveset

Houndstone has quite a varied moveset:

  • Bite – Dark-Type (Fast Move)
  • Lick – Ghost-Type (Fast Move)
  • Shadow Ball – Dark-Type (Charged Move)
  • Dig – Ground-Type (Charged Move)
  • Psychic Fangs – Psychic-Type (Charged Move)

The best choice would be Lick and Shadow Ball moves. With them, your Houndstone will be able to deal massive damage.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Houndstone in Pokemon Go. After the Halloween event, this will be pretty hard to do, but with some effort, you will be able to add new Ghost-type Pokemon to your Paldea Pokédex. In the meantime, please take a look at our guide on how to get and use the Coin Bag in Pokemon GO.
