With the 1.0 release of My Time at Sandrock, there are many changes you might have noticed in the game. However, considering the acquisition and usage of Petrified Wood, it hasn’t changed much in My Time at Sandrock. This Wood variant is a higher-tier raw material that is versatile and essential for crafting various items in the game, including Petrified Wooden Boards and Sticks. Also, if you want to forge Steel Spears and Super Shock Shields, you will need this material.

You can get Petrified Wood in My Time at Sandrock from Large Deadwood in the desert near the Gecko Station and suburb. We recommend you use your horse to travel since you can get there quickly and reduce the traveling time for searching for this material. Also, be aware that cutting off these Large Deadwoods consumes a lot of stamina. So, watch your stamina bar while cutting off these trees.

Usage of Petrified Wood

You can sell Petrified Wood for 14 Gols at various shops in the game. Also, you can use them to craft, forge, or gift for characters in the game.

  1. Crafting

You can craft this material for Petrified Wooden board or Petrified Wooden Stick by using the processor. To craft a Petrified Wooden board, you will need three Petrified Woods, while crafting Petrified Wooden Stick will need two. These are useful for crafting items such as Advanced Worktable, Transport Basket, Chromium Axe, and Chromium Pickhammer. Also, you can forge the Game Center Sign and Chromium Sword and Shield using Wooden boards or Petrified Wooden Sticks.

  2. Forging

You can forge a Steel Spear for five  Petrified Woods and a Super Shock Shield for six Petrified Woods. These are essential weapons you can use in combat situations.

  3. Gifting

You can gift Petrified Wood to many characters in the game, but almost all of them are neutral towards this material. However, some items crafted and forged with Petrified Wood are liked by some characters. For example, Heidi and Yan would appreciate it if you gift them Petrified Wooden Boards, and Copper is fond of Super Shock Shields. So, you can craft or forge these items and give them as gifts to improve your friendship with these characters.

Moreover, some missions require Petrified Woods, so it’s always good to have some in your inventory. Also, if you prefer a video walkthrough for getting your hands on this material, this YouTube post from LADY MADCRAB will help:
