Even though many games warn players about age restrictions, the story of Samara Jalal in MW3 confirms that sometimes these restrictions are worth listening to. In the end, we all remember the ending of MW2 and the No Russian mission, and unfortunately, the fate of Samara is not much different from the horrors of 9 years ago. Fighting for freedom, she can not live a long and happy life. However, before we talk about the role of this woman in MW3, it is worth delving a little into her past.
Samara Jalal Backstory
The story of Samara Jalal begins in the fictional country of Urzikstan, where she joined the militia, also known as the Urzikstan Liberation Force (ULF). Due to Russian statements, the ULF was considered a terrorist organization. But the group, consisting of about 7,000 people and supported by the West and the United Kingdom, opposed the Russian occupation forces that sought to occupy Urzikstan. Under the leadership of Farah Karim, Samara achieved considerable achievements.
However, sometime later, Samara Jalal left the ULF to return to her husband and two children. But her dreams and happy life were not destined to come true. Her old ties to the organization made her a target of terrorists led by the Russian command. Mercenaries planned to frame a former member of the ULF and the organization itself, and Samara had the misfortune of becoming a key figure in this bloody performance.
Role of Samara Jalal in MW3
The role of Samara Jalal begins approximately halfway through the story campaign during the Passenger mission. A cut scene at the beginning of the mission shows us the contraband weapons on board Russian Flight 761. After this, your camera pans onto the plane, where you take control of Samara. A girl flying from Kastovia to Sochi talks to the man beside her, but everything changes when the man reveals specific facts about her and her family.
The bewilderment of the woman is interrupted by the barrel of a gun pointed at her by a man who is a member of the Makarov group. We probably don’t need to go into all the details, but regardless of your actions, Samara will lose consciousness from a flashbang grenade, after which she discovers she is wearing an explosive vest. Having thrown the activated detonator into the crowd of passengers, the villains jump with parachutes. At the same time, frightened passengers do not allow Samara to reach the detonator, mistaking her for a terrorist, after which an explosion occurs.
Does Samara Die in MW3?
Unfortunately, Samara Jalal, along with all the passengers on Flight 761, were killed in the explosion. This concludes the Samara story arc in MW3, having never even begun. But what’s even more depressing is that you have no choice. Nothing you do can change the outcome of this mission, which makes it just as terrible as the No Russian mission. On the other hand, further in the story, Farah Karim organizes a special operation at the site of the plane crash to wipe the data of the plane. This allowed Farah to clear her old friend’s name by clearing it of the stigma of terrorism.
To sum it up, here is what you need to know about Samara in MW3:
- Samara was a member of the ULF.
- This woman left the war in favor of her family.
- Makarov and his group framed the girl so that everyone would think that she was a terrorist.
- After the explosion on Flight 761, she died.
