Rottin’Ghoul is one of the new characters that joined Vampire Survivors in the Tides of the Foscari DLC. However, how to unlock Rottin’Ghoul isn’t the most explained process in the game, and it requires quite a bit of time. To unlock this character, you’ll have to seek out the enemies most similar to Rottin’Ghoul in Abyss Foscari and take out thousands of them. While this might be a seemingly easy task, you’ll have to put quite a bit of time into farming the DLC stages just to get a chance to unlock it.

Unlocking Rottin’Ghoul requires you to defeat 6,000 Rotting Ghoul enemies in Vampire Survivors, and then purchase Rottin’Ghoul from the character selection screen in-game. However, before encountering Rotting Ghouls, you must unlock the Abyss Foscari stage, the second stage in the Tides of the Foscari DLC. Once you’re inside the Abyss Foscari stage, Rotting Ghouls show up quite frequently, both in small numbers and in impressive swarms.

Unlocking Abyss Foscari is probably the most time-consuming portion of the Rottin’Ghoul unlocking process. This stage, sealed by Luminaire in ancient times to contain the darkness within, is no easy stage to fly through with your favorite character. You must break the Seal of the Lake in the Lake Foscari stage with Keitha Muort, along with her evolved weapon, the Millionaire.

You can unlock Keitha Muort by evolving Eskizzibur, and then purchasing her from the character selection menu. Once you have, take her into the Lake Foscari map and make your way to the Seal of the Lake, which would be the large green crystal within the stage. You must use Keitha’s main weapon, the Flash Arrow, and evolve it into the Millionaire weapon using the Bracer and Clover accessories. This will unlock Abyss Foscari, allowing you to enter and find Rotting Ghoul enemies.

She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
