If you were thinking Dead by Daylight wouldn’t get another big licensed killer this year… well, you were kind of right. Instead, a small licensed killer will be making his way to the asymmetric survival horror game, Chucky from Child’s Play. The social media account for the title did tease that another killer would be announced today, sharing an image of a missing knife, with a stool underneath. Many fans guessed that the new Dead by Daylight killer would be Chucky, although some still held out hope for a Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover.

If you are unfamiliar with the popular franchise, Chucky is a doll that inhabits the soul of a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray. The popular doll has been voiced by Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Deadwood), and he will be reprising his role for the game. First reported by IGN, the Child’s Play chapter of the game will include Chucky as a killer, as well as an outfit based on Tiffany, the other popular doll in the franchise.

The developer Behaviour Interactive noted that “players can further customize the new Killer with the Good Gal outfit, inspired by Tiffany Valentine (aka the Bride of Chucky), which is voiced by Jennifer Tilly.”

IGN has reported that Chucky and Tiffany will be available beginning November 28, 2023. You will be able to slip under pallets and use your height as an advantage. He will undoubtedly become a fan favorite for jumpscares. You can try out Chucky today in the Public Test Build as Behaviour has stated in the tweet above.

In a year that saw Nicolas Cage and Alien expansions, as well as a Stranger Things return to the title, it’s hard to imagine that Dead by Daylight will ever have a more productive year than 2023.
