Whether growing the perfect turnip in Stardew Valley or braving the wilderness in Skyrim, nothing beats a warm hearth to come home to. Upgrading your house in Coral Island offers a ton of important upgrades. You’ll get the cozy home standard, including more space and better furnishings to live the good life, but that’s not all. House upgrades also unlock important social mechanics including marriage and having children. A bigger fridge and the possibility of romance? It doesn’t get much cozier than that. Here’s how to upgrade your house in Coral Island.

One of the first quests you get in Coral Island is “Home Sweet Home,” which requires you to repair your new house. Doing so unlocks more space, better furnishings, and even important social options like marriage and having children. Here’s what you need to know about each stage of the upgrades:

The Carpenter’s shop is open between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. It’s open between 9 AM and 2 PM on Sunday and is closed all day on Saturday. You’ll need to drop by when you want to start construction. Keep in mind that most upgrades take a few days to complete. You can get bronze ore from the Earth Mine, silver ore from the Water Mine, and gold ore from the Wind Mine. After that, your dream home is just a smelt away.
