This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

In Coral Island, planting and harvesting crops will be your main routine, with the harvesting aspect being especially important. After harvesting, you can do whatever you want with the crops, from selling them to cooking different dishes or giving them to other characters. This is a monotonous but interesting process that will bear fruit in multiple ways throughout the game.

Harvesting is the last action you will need to perform when growing different crops. Before you do this, you should go through the entire process of farming, from planting seeds to caring for the crop. It all begins with your seeds.

Fortunately, getting seeds is not as difficult as it may seem and there are generally 2 options to do so:

  • Purchase: The quicker but more expensive way is to buy seeds from Sam’s General Store. Here, you can spend some currency to buy the seeds you need. This method is useful if you are looking for specific or seasonal seeds.
  • Cutting tall grass: An alternative and cost-free method is to cut tall grass. You can do this with the help of a scythe. Simply walk up to the tall grass and interact with it using the tool. As a result, you can get wild seeds that you can eventually plant.

Before you plant the seeds, you will need to prepare the ground for planting. To accomplish this, pick up a trowel and approach the desired ground tile. Then, interact with it using the tool to turn it into a ready farmland. When everything is ready, you can plant seeds there, by interacting with the area again.

From here on, everything will be easier, as now your main task is to take care of the crops. A watering can will be useful here, just use it on the growing crops to water them. Water the crops every day until they grow, and then you can finally harvest them.

To harvest, you also need a tool, in this case, a scythe. When the crop is ready to be harvested, you will notice a “Harvest” button when you approach it. So, if the button appears, interact with the crop to harvest it, but if there is no button, it means that the plant has not yet grown.
