Jen Shah has found a way to thrive in federal prison. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, who is serving a 6½-year sentence, has found a silver lining in her time at Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. Shah’s publicist tells Page Six. The reality star has developed an ab-workout routine that she’s sharing with her fellow inmates.
Jen Shah has gotten into shape since starting her sentence in February.
Jen Shah has spent time focusing on fitness since turning herself in to begin her sentence earlier this year. The routine includes cardio blasts and ab flexors, according to Shah’s publicist, Chris Giovanni.
Paying homage to her signature catchphrase during her RHOSLC days, she christened the workout the “Shah-mazing abs class.”
“She created it in prison. It started off as something she was doing to improve her fitness,” he told the outlet. “As she went in, she lost a good amount of weight … All the ladies started coming up to her on the yard and they would do workout segments.”
Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes is allegedly among the inmates who have attended Shah’s workouts, which have earned her the nickname “Jen Fonda.”
Jen’s focused on staying busy as she serves her time.
The publicist continued on to note that Jen Shah has found many ways to be social and find some fulfillment in her time behind bars. Aside from her workouts and giving “beauty advice,” Giovanni says she “reads to pass the time.”
“[Shah] spends most of her time journaling. She has over 90-something pages of her experience,” he shared, adding that she “works in the library” and is mentoring inmates working towards their GED.
Jen Shah’s release date is currently set for July 1, 2028. In the meantime, “She’s focusing on staying mentally strong while in there and remaining as connected as possible with her family,” her publicist said.
