Dragon Ball fans can relax as they won’t have to rely on fan dubs of Dragonball Super for long. This is because Funimation has the rights to the english dub. Therefore fans will be able to watch Goku’s new adventures with the familiar voices of the English VAs.

Super takes place between the end of the Majin Buu arc and the epilogue of Z. Funimation has released the following synopsis.

“After 18 years, we have the newest Dragon Ball story from creator Akira Toriyama.

With Majin Buu defeated, Goku has taken a completely new role as…a radish farmer?! With Earth at peace, our heroes have settled into normal lives. But they can’t get too comfortable. Far away, the powerful God of Destruction, Beerus, awakens to a prophecy revealing his demise at the hands of an even more formidable being. When his search for the Saiyan God brings him to Earth, can Goku and his friends take on their strongest foe yet?”

The first two story arcs adapt the most recent Dragon Ball movies since everything that follows is based on them. These movies are Battle of the Gods and Resurrection F. Gods covers the arrival of Beerus, the god of destruction while F sees the return of Frieza.

Fans who can’t wait can watch the subbed versions on the FunimationNow service. Meanwhile Forbes reported the following.

“Masayuki Endo, President of Toei Animation followed up with, “We are delighted to introduce Dragon Ball Super to a fantastic audience together with Funimation. Dragon Ball Super encompasses everything fans love about Dragon Ball, while taking the mythology to a whole new level. Toei’s team of talented animators and creators have put their passion and imagination into this series.”

New subbed episodes will be simulcast by Funimation starting November 5th.
