No, it is not the room getting hotter. Amazon has delivered a compilation of what it has to come to Prime Video in 2024. In the video, we receive a first look at the remake of Road House, the Jake Gyllenhaal movie that sees the actor shirtless to show off his insane muscles, which takes us back to him being jacked in Southpaw (seen below).
The remake of the 1989 movie with Patrick Swayze follows the Nightcrawler actor as an ex-UFC fighter working at a bar in Florida. Not much is known, but in the clip, we see him slap someone and sarcastically say, “Ooo, I just slapped you. Are you alright?” Then proceeds to pummel people.
Jake Gyllenhaal Goes Shirtless in First Look at Road House Remake
The video offers a lot to be excited about for the streaming service. We see returning shows and new projects from film and TV. For looks at new movies, we get Jake Gyllenhaal’s charm and fighting skills in Road House, the rom-com Upgraded, the musical titled Música, the Zac Efron and John Cena comedy Ricky Stanicky, and Role Play with Kaley Cuoco. For new seasons of shows, we get new seasons of The Boys, the rest of season 2 of Invincible, the horror series Them, and Josh Brolin’s Outer Range. New series include the video game adaptation of Fallout, Donald Glover’s remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Nicole Kidman’s Expats.
The remake was directed by Doug Liman (Chaos Walking). It was written by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and will be the debut of co-writer Chuck Mondry.
Road House will have Jake Gyllenhaal beating people down on March 21, 2024. He will star with Darren Barnet, Daniela Melchior, Lukas Gage, Billy Magnussen, Beau Knapp, Jessica Williams, Travis Van Winkle, and real UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
