This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

After the rumor spread that the location of Roblox players could be public, it alarmed many users. It went viral on social networks that players can see each other’s addresses through biometric location tracking. Concern proliferated among parents because many of the users of this game are minors. So, many people are looking for ways to turn off the location in Roblox to protect their children or their personal information. This is still a rumor, but many think it is better to hide this important data from anyone who wants to exploit it.

Roblox: How To Turn Off Your Location

For now, there is no way to completely turn off the location of the players within the Roblox options. But in the options, you can configure which country you are in; follow these simple steps:

1. Open your Roblox Client or go to the official webpage.

2. Click on the Gear Icon in the upper right corner.

3. Then, press the Settings option.

5. Search for the Account Location option.

6. Change your location to another country.

This is the only way to hide your real information or for supposed hackers to see where you live. But you should know you can’t undo this change; you can only do it once. Changing your location will affect the currency you will use to buy in the Roblox store. Some countries have different restrictions, so it is best to research how changing your location will affect your account before making the change.

There are other ways to hide your location in Roblox; this is a different turn-off than the previous method. But can also use:

  • VPN

They encrypt the traffic between the Internet and the device, so they protect from tracking websites or hackers.

  • Proxy Server

This creates anonymity with the server by allowing users to bypass content restrictions and monitoring. But it is more complicated to use.

Both services usually have a cost but can be another solution for Roblox, as you can’t turn off the location in the game. We also recommend parents with young children playing Roblox be aware of account privacy and parental control. These steps will help keep more youthful and not-so-younger users safe from malicious players.
