A recent tweet from the official X/Twitter account for the new hit game Palworld confirms that the game has just broken the record for the highest all-time concurrent player peak of any other paid game in the history of Steam. Palworld launched on PC just a couple of days ago and has already become a worldwide sensation as the game’s servers struggle under the weight of the sheer number of players attempting to get in on the Early Access launch.

Palworld’s Concurrent Player Steam Record

#Palworld has the highest concurrent player count of any paid game in the history of Steam!

We can't believe it!

Thank you SO much to everyone. We really can not thank you enough.

The team is hard at work making Palworld even better as we speak! #Pocketpair pic.twitter.com/tYHfHWLqM9

The official Palworld X/Twitter account recently posted the above tweet showing the all-time peak for concurrent players of the game on Steam hitting 1,121,226 on January 21st. That’s the record highest all-time peak for any paid game on Steam’s platform, surpassing even major AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, and Call of Duty. That’s a pretty amazing achievement considering Palworld‘s development studio, Pocketpair, isn’t owned by any AAA company and reportedly made the game on a budget of only around $7 million USD.

This success has come with some controversy. The development team has been scrambling to ensure the game’s servers can meet up with the massive demand as players continue to issue complaints about multiplayer issues. Others across social media have also taken the natural Pokemon comparisons the game gets to an extreme by outright suggesting plagiarism is at play with some of the Pal designs in the game. Regardless, Palworld‘s success is massive and it doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
