Contrary to other survival games, Enshrouded encourages you to stick to one base and improve it over time, and to do so, and there are a few things you should watch out for, such as the Comfort level. While it might not seem like the most important thing in the game at first, this mechanic helps you a lot, especially when exploring the furthest reaches of the map. So, if you thought being rested in Enshrouded was only for flair, think again because there are many benefits to beautifying your base in the game.
How Does Comfort Work in Enshrouded? Answered
Comfort is a stat tied directly to your base in Enshrouded that dictates how long your rested bonus will last. If you didn’t know, you’ll get a rested bonus when you spend time at your base or sleep in it. At first, this won’t matter too much as it is a short boon, but the more you furnish your home, the better it’ll be. Besides, being rested provides many bonuses to your stamina regeneration, meaning having it for as long as possible before hitting the road is crucial.
How To Increase Comfort
To increase your comfort level, you must furnish your base with specific furniture. When crafting at your workbench, you’ll see a tab called “Comfort.” Inside, you’ll see many items you can build that provide comfort bonuses, such as:
- Chairs
- Beds
- Illumination (candles, lamps, etc.)
- Benches
- Tables
- Fireplace
Building any of these items will increase your comfort level in Enshrouded and, in turn, give you a rested buff that’ll last longer.
While these items aren’t a priority in the game, we recommend using spare resources to build them. You can start with small things, such as a fireplace and a few chairs that don’t cost a lot, and add other things when you unlock higher-tier recipes. Ultimately, it is also good to have a nice home because, after all the gloom and doom, it is never bad to beautify your only safe spot on the map.
