The Pals in Palworld are for far more than just battling. They can help around the base in various unique ways and even help traverse the vast terrain that is already out there in the hit game’s Early Access stage. The fact is, though, that not all Pals are created equal. Some are going to be far more helpful at the start of a player’s Palworld game than others, so it’s good to know which Pals out there are going to help give that off-the-bat edge to avoid that first base getting ransacked by the first raiders that come through.
Foxparks
Foxparks is a really easy Pal to find at the beginning of the game, appearing in one of the earliest areas the player will find once leaving the spawn point. Not only is Foxparks good to farm because it drops Flame Organs and Leather, but it’s also good to have one around the base since it’ll speed up anything cooking in the fireplace. Foxparks also gets one of the earliest Pal items that can be crafted and attached to one in the player’s party enabling it to be used as a powerful flamethrower. This is a great addition for any player looking to get both range and serious damage in those intimidating early fights.
Daedream
This is a Pal that can be obtained fairly early, the player just needs to make sure they’re doing some exploring at night as this is the sole time when Daedream Pals appear. The main draw of Daedream is for the player to keep at least one, if not more, in their party once they reach level 8. This is because at that level the player will be able to unlock and craft the Daedream Necklace Pal item, an item that will unlock Daedream’s special ability which allows it to fight in battle with you in addition to another Pal in your party. The player’s early-game fighting power will become significantly stronger when they have multiple Pals fighting alongside them at once.
Vixy
Once the player is able to spend technology points on a ranch, Vixy is a must-have Pal. Vixy has a perk that lets it farm a random number of items when it’s assigned to the ranch. These items include useful things like arrows and Pal Spheres, all things the player will very consistently need in the early game and beyond. Not having to worry as much about crafting and gathering supplies for those items is a huge time saver, and time is of the essence when trying to get that early base off the ground.
Melpaca
Another early-game Pal item that can be crafted after the Foxparks Harness is a saddle for Melpaca. This is another of the best starter Pals that can be fairly easily found in a similar area to Foxparks close to the spawn point. Once a saddle can be crafted, the player can ride Melpaca, making traversal and finding many of those early fast travel points much easier and less intimidating.
Tanzee
This Pal is an all-arounder. Not only is it great to have Tanzee assigned to the player’s base since it has several helpful handiwork skills, but it also becomes an offensive machine once the player can give it an assault rifle (Yes, you can give a monkey an assault rifle). When all of this is put together, Tanzee becomes one of the best starter Pals in Palworld and one the player will likely want to have on hand and back home at the base.
