Before you can start catching Pals in Palworld and turning them into either pets, laborers, or food, you have to gradually progress from being a caveman. That involves spending Palworld Technology Points wisely, you can build new structures or items and even set up a base for your farming and mining operations. So while it’s easy to earn Technology Points in Palworld, you’d get ahead of the curve by prioritizing some tech.
Which Tech to Prioritize Per Tier
The first 10 or so tiers of Tech in Palworld are crucial not only to your survival but to how fast you will thrive (especially if you’re in a multiplayer server).
Consider grabbing these following techs first as we deem them necessities (and so does the tutorial). Then you can safely play around with other tech depending on your whims.
Tier 2
- Pal Spheres – Grab this before anything else.
- Palbox – Mandatory, really, but consider grabbing it as soon as you can.
- Campfire – For your food and to survive the night’s chill.
- Wooden Structure Set – For building a house and walls.
- Wooden Chest – Encumbrance will severely limit your exploration so leave what you can at your base.
Basically, grab almost everything in Tier 2. The Repair Bench is not that needed given how you can just craft too many of the early tools you can get with the abundance of low-level materials.
Tier 3
- Straw Pal Bed – If you want your Pals at the base to provide uninterrupted labor, Pal Beds should be a priority.
- Old Bow – Your first comfortable ranged weapon. It will not only ease catching food and Pals, but you can also use it to cheese the game.
- Arrow – Self-explanatory.
- Cloth – It’s a gateway resource to a lot of armor options later on.
Tier 4
- Feed Box – The key building to maintaining a hands-free farming or mining base.
- Cloth Outfit – This not only adds armor but also helps you explore at night by protecting against cold weather.
Tier 5
- Berry Plantation – This building goes hand-in-hand with the Feed Box in keeping your bases running like clockwork.
- Normal Parachute – It’s the open-world glider in the style of Breath of the Wild. What’s not to like?
Tier 6
- Pal Gear Workbench – Trust us, you’ll need this one as soon as you get it as it allows you to craft Saddles and even a Rocket Launcher.
- Mounted Torch – Helps a lot during Tombat attacks at night.
- Any Saddle or Harness – To help with exploration and traversal.
Tier 7
- Logging Site – This allows you to be less picky with bases by creating a resource node at your base.
- Stone Pit – Same as Logging Site but for Stones.
- Any Saddle or Harness
Tier 8
- Crusher – Now that you have an abundance of Wood and Stone, you can exchange them for other resources.
- Any Saddle or Harness
Tier 9
- Tropical Outfit – It will expand your exploration areas.
- Tundra Outfit – Same as Tropical Outfit but for freezing temperatures.
- Hot Spring – A good way to restore your laborer Pals’ sanity.
Tier 10
- Furnace – Ingots unlock a lot of powerful new stuff.
- Three Shot Bow – To help you with getting stronger Pals.
