The female counterpart to the infamous toothy blue monster, Kissy Missy is well known as Huggy Wuggy’s better half. Unlike her boyfriend, however, she’s much friendlier and doesn’t pose too much of a threat. In fact, she’s arguably one of the most sympathetic characters in the entire game, as she helps you take down the main antagonist within the third chapter: Catnap and The Prototype. While she only plays a small cameo in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web, she plays a pivotal role in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep. But after finishing the third chapter, you may be left wondering what happened to Kissy Missy in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3? Let’s shed some light on this mystery, shall we?

What Is the Hour of Joy?
After defeating CatNap in a boss encounter and right at the end of Chapter 3, Poppy Playtime delivers a speech revealing details about The Hour of Joy. This is a mysterious event that sets into motion the catastrophe that unfolds within the games. On a VHS tape, Poppy exposes the truth of what happened at PlayCare. Long story short, Huggy Wuggy kills the staff of the toy factory in a blood-drenched rage, with the teachers mysteriously joining in like a sort of cult.
The icing on the cake, however, is the fact that Huggy Wuggy — along with the rest of the evil toy monsters, like The Prototype and CatNap — dragged the bodies of their victims down into the bowels of the facility to feast on their flesh for sustenance. As a result of this, Poppy believes that it’s time for the evil Prototype to die.
What Happens to Kissy Missy at the End of Chapter 3?
Once Poppy delivers her speech, Kissy Missy enters the room and helps lower her down onto an elevator. The next objective looks like you’re about to go and battle The Prototype, with Kissy Missy waiting at the top of the elevator shaft. Things take a turn for the worse, however.
As the elevator descends into the darkness, you suddenly hear screams from Kissy Missy above. With Poppy shouting and shrieking beside you, it sounds as if Kissy Missy has been killed by a mysterious entity while the elevator descends. It’s clear that Poppy wants to go back up the elevator shaft to help Kissy Missy. Then, all of a sudden, the game fades to black, and the credits start to roll, signifying the end of Chapter 3.
Does Kissy Missy Die at the End of Chapter 3?
It’s unclear whether Kissy Missy dies at the end of Chapter 3, but it’s certainly inferred. From the sounds of her screaming, she’s definitely attacked and hurt by something, though what that is remains a mystery.
After playing the game, our speculative thoughts as to what may’ve happened to Kissy Missy are as follows:
- Kissy Missy may’ve been killed by The Prototype and assimilated into its body and makeup.
- Kissy Missy may’ve been critically injured by The Prototype, but managed to survive.
- Kissy Missy may’ve been murdered by the Mini Smiling Critters.
