Alien invasions are just a normal day in New York City. Paramount has released the trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One, starring Lupita Nyong’o as the lead survivor (seen below). This prequel goes back over 470 days to see what life was like at The Big Apple during the invasion that ended human civilization.
The first footage of the upcoming film delivers an explosive look at the first day of the invasion. We see chaos ensue as people find shelter from a falling New York. This will certainly be the loudest entry in a world where to survive is to remain as quiet as possible. Alongside the Black Panther star will be Djimon Hounsou, Alex Wolff, and Joseph Quinn. Hounsou will reprise his role from Part Two.
A Quiet Place: Day One Trailer Goes Loud With Lupita Nyong’o
The prequel is the first film not to have John Krasinski or Emily Blunt in the forefront. Krasinski will produce and has a writing credit as he came up with the idea with writer and director Michael Sarnoski. The filmmaker made his name in 2021 with the Wolff and Nicolas Cage drama Pig. Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock serve as executive producers. Other producers include Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.
Watching the trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One shows how much of a different direction we will receive with a blockbuster-sized action thriller. The Oscar-winning lead told EW how this film will differ beyond explosions and countless aliens on screen. As the film goes away from a family story and follows strangers uniting to survive, she noted that these “disparate individuals” create a “really interesting — and even surprising — chemistry in the characters that meet each other along the way.”
A Quiet Place: Day One will be released on June 28.
