Arming yourself for the Galatic War in Helldivers 2 is crucial, and while the starting weapons work well enough, you’ll need more soon. Even if the game explains a lot of things perfectly, there are others players need to find out on their own. From getting new Stratagems to unlocking new equipment for your ship, there are many systems you need to get familiar with. But since most of us are here to blast bugs and robots in the face, let’s start with that first.

Where To Get More Weapons in Helldivers 2

You might’ve noticed that Helldivers 2 doesn’t have the usual in-game store to spend your hard-earned credits and buy new armaments. Instead, you’ll find weapons in the game’s battle pass. To unlock it, here’s what you must do:

  1. Play and complete one mission.
  2. Return to the ship, and a new “Acquisitions” option will appear on the screen.
  3. Press the corresponding button to open the battle pass screen.
  4. Battle Passes are called Warbonds. There’s one that is free and a premium one you can purchase.
  5. Select any of them and look for the weapon you want to unlock.
  6. Spend your Medals to unlock your new gun.

While the steps to get new weapons are simple enough to follow, how do you even get Medals for them? Well, we didn’t forget about that.

How To Get Medals

To obtain Medals, you simply have to complete operations. Each operation has a different number of missions, and you must finish them to earn this currency. The number of Medals you get depends on the operation. Some medium-difficulty operations can reward you six Medals, making getting this currency easier than in other multiplayer titles.

Are Premium Weapons Worth It?

Since there are two Warbonds or battle passes, people might think the premium weapons are better, but not really. Yes, some have different effects and can do more damage, but ultimately, you’re not competing to become the best. The game relies a lot on player skill, so it is better to familiarize yourself with a loadout and use it accordingly. Besides, support weapons are the ones that do more damage, and those are obtained by playing the game without spending a dime. So, if you ask us, we recommend not spending any money on the Warbond unless you want the cosmetic items.
