When you are improving and upgrading your camp in Sons of the Forest, you will use the logs of the trees around you. When you chop down a tree its stump will be there and after a while, you might wonder if you run out of wood resources in the game. Especially if you check the same location the next day and see the stumps there.

To answer the question of whether trees regrow in Sons of the Forest or not, they do but not where you might expect them. After a cycle of day and night is passed in the game, the trees will regrow in different locations and for that reason, you see the stumps still there. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any new trees.
