Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is growing with new faces. The Changeling and Letterkenny star Clark Backo is joining Tom Hardy for Venom 3 this November. The latest star to be unveiled for the third film will also be joining Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Like the other two additions, the star’s role is under wraps.
Not much is known about the third entry. The SSU has not built up to anything between the four soon-to-be six films. A small crossover was done as a post-credit scene for Spider-Man: No Way Home, as we saw the Mad Max star pop up for a fun gag.

The latest update on the film comes from Variety. Kelly Marcel marks her directorial debut with the blockbuster. She wrote the script from a story idea that she developed with her leading star. She was previously a writer on the other two films before getting the opportunity to put her whole vision on the big screen.
Venom 3 will be the first major film for Clark Backo. She is best known for being in the Canadian comedy series Letterkenny, which ended last year. She also starred with LaKeith Stanfield in the Apple TV series The Changeling. She has also been seen in The Handmaid’s Tale, Supernatural, and Designated Survivor.
Things have not been looking hot for the SSU. While the two Venom films grossed significant money for Sony despite poor to middling reception from critics and audiences, the other two films in the universe have not done well. Despite lower budgets for superhero films, Morbius and Madame Web have done disastrously, both from a critical and commercial perspective. The Dakota Johnson-led film has had a lower opening than Jared Leto’s vampire flick and worse reviews.
Venom 3 will be the third film released by Sony for the SSU. Madame Web was recently released, and we will have Kraven the Hunter on August 30 as the first R-rated SSU installment. Then, we will get Venom on November 8.
