Best Electric Cup Teams in Pokemon Go

Is it electrifying enough for you?

It’s time to bring out your favorite Electric Pokemon. The Electric Cup zooms back into Pokemon Go, and you’ll need the best Electric-type team with a great setup to make it through. There are strong pocket monsters like Vikavolt, but here’s the twist: it’s banned. Vikavolt, Stunfisk, Heliolisk, and Charjabug are all banned from the tournament. Paired with the 1,500 CP cap, you must plan well to succeed in the Electric Cup.

Top Electric Cup Team Setups

If you want to enjoy the Electric Cup, you have until March 8, 2024. That’s enough time to experiment with what teams work best for you. Although you can’t use some heavy hitters in the Pokemon Go Electric Cup, there are plenty of other companions that can see you to victory. Play into a Pokemon’s particular strengths (and weaknesses) to help you make solid combinations. Some of my suggestions are listed below:

  • Galvantula, Minun, Lanturn
  • Hisuian Electrode, Flaaffy, Luxray
  • Manectric, Alolan Graveler, Raichu
  • Electrode, Dedenne, Togedemaru

Each of these can make for the best Electric Cup team in Pokemon Go based on their stats and movesets. I’ll recommend four different setups to help cover if you don’t have some of these Pokemon or their strength isn’t exactly up to par yet.

Electric Cup Team Up – Galvantula, Minun, Lanturn

Galvantula (Bug/Electric) is an aggressive companion to send out first. It’ll do some great damage before being brought down. Meanwhile, Minun (Electric) can work at any point throughout the match, thanks to its versatility. It can hit as hard as it can defend.

Lastly, Lanturn (Water/Electric) comes in primarily as a switch. It has reliable offensive moves to cover up for the tougher members of the team. Besides, not many use the Pokemon elsewhere, so why not give it some use in the Electric Cup?

One of the best ways to wear down an opponent in the Pokemon Go Electric Cup is to feature the likes of Hisuian Electrode (Electric/Grass). The Grass skill can come in clutch to chip away an opponent’s HP. From there, Flaaffy (Electric) can pick up the slack for attacking to potentially finish off one or more of the Pokemon Hisuian Electrode handled.

Finally, Luxray (Electric) does well on the attacking side, too, but it’s excellent as a switch. Swap out one of your others for Luxray when things get too hot. They can nail a few good hits and possibly win the battle.

Team Up – Manectric, Alolan Graveler, Raichu

For this Pokemon Go Electric Cup team, Manectric (Electric) might serve as cannon fodder. It can strike out hard, especially if you’ve raised their stats, but it’s not that tough. An opponent with the right Pokemon can quickly take it out. That’s where Alolan Graveler (Rock/Electric) comes in. Its Rock typing gives it some handy resistance to Electric attacks.

Raichu (Electric/Psychic) can help throughout the match or end it due to how well it generally takes damage. This can balance out any complications with Manectric.

Electric Cup Team Up – Electrode, Dedenne, Togedemaru

Our journey brings us back to Electrode (Electric), but just the original one this time if you lack the Hisuian form. Electrode is a stable performer whether you start with them or end with them. Our other two truly sell this Electric Cup team-up in Pokemon Go.

Dedenne (Electric/Fairy) is great for its Fairy powers alone. It can do severe damage to your opponent and promptly win the match. Togedemaru (Electric/Steel) is a wonderful backup. Attacking aside, its Steel rating can protect it better against Electric moves and make it a useful closer.

Even though some tougher Electric-type Pokemon are banned from the Electric Cup, it does make it much more fun to play around with others you may not use so much in Pokemon Go. So, use some of my recommendations if you’d like, or mix and match with some other sturdy Electric types. Most of all — enjoy yourself.

Pokemon Go is available on iOS and Android.
