“I’ll say what I want,” is what Elon Musk expressed in a Fortune interview last May, but it seems even he doesn’t believe he can get away with everything he says. Taking to Twitter/X, the Tesla CEO aggressively announced his distasteful opinion of Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, and her donations to charity. The billionaire guru is no stranger to making outrageous statements, but even he evidently thought this tweet took things too far.
Elon Musk Publicly Blasts Jeff Bezos’ Ex MacKenzie Scott for Donating to Charity
Elon Musk held nothing back as he responded to a Twitter/X post sharing MacKenzie Scott’s charitable giving to those struggling with “issues of race and/or gender.” While it’s highly questionable if the founder of SpaceX thought things through before sharing his profound opinion of Scott, the following had already been posted for the world to see:
“‘Super rich ex-wives who hate their former spouse’ should be listed among ‘Reasons that Western Civilization died.'”

Needless to say, very few took kindly to the brazenly hostile statement by the Executive Chairman of X. In a likely attempt to put brakes on the overwhelmingly negative responses to his post, Musk tries to “pull a sneaky” on Twitter/X users by quietly deleting the tweet. Of course, the cat’s already been let out of the bag, and the backlash against the co-founder of Neuralink was already underway.
“Lunacy what the hell is wrong with him to even suggest that? The man is a sociopath,” states one Reddit user; many nod in agreement across multiple social media platforms besides Reddit.
One Reddit user shared some information about Elon Musk donating Tesla shares to a charity in 2021; the twist is that he founded the charity. That said, the poster asks the question,
“Did Elmo essentially ‘donate’ to himself?” which expresses that MacKenzie Scott’s recent donations to social justice causes are much more socially credible than Musk’s efforts.
Whatever the case, this won’t be the last time the owner of Twitter/X thinks he can outsmart the public. Whether he deletes the evidence of his deranged statements, the internet isn’t so easily fooled, nor will it forget what’s been said.
