Tesla CEO Elon Musk won’t let it slide after his company backed out on a pie order worth thousands of dollars and the internet is impressed. The tech mogul isn’t new to scandal, especially in recent years. This week alone has seen him intensify his criticism of Google’s Gemini AI, attack Microsoft’s new policies for Windows laptops, and even call out the “legacy media” for controlling the narrative via dubious means like a “media blackout.” While most of these fall in line with his free speech narrative on X, they received mixed reactions from netizens who never hesitate to condemn his approach.
San Jose Bakery Slam Tesla For Canceled Pie Order
This time, however, Tesla’s Elon Musk seems to have struck the right chord with X users. Earlier, a San Jose Bakery — The Giving Pies — claimed it ended up losing thousands of dollars after Tesla canceled an order of $4,000 mini pies worth $16,000. The small business owner Voahangt Rasetarinera, via Facebook, recounted how Tesla ordered 2,000 mini pies on Valentine’s Day for an event celebrating Black History Month. After sending in her quote, the company approved it, and she commenced work to get the order ready, even turning down other offers.

However, Tesla allegedly canceled the order at the last minute, via a text message, claiming the cancel request came from upper management. As a result, the company ran at a loss of almost $16,000 as the pies were already prepared and ready for delivery.
Elon Musk Makes Things Right With Bakery on X
In his message on X, Elon Musk claimed he did not know about Tesla’s canceled pie order. The CEO also vowed to make things good with the bakery. He wrote,
“Just hearing about this. Will make things good with the bakery. People should always be able to count on Tesla trying its best.”
Several X users have since voiced their admiration for Elon Musk, admitting the Tesla CEO handled the pie situation the right way. Reacting, one user wrote,
“Elon always does the right thing.”
Another offered,
“He’s got the money and heart to do so.”
A third added,
“Making things good is the right thing to do.”
Elon Musk did not exactly establish how he intended to “make things good” with the pie bakery. The business owner Voaghangy on Friday evening confirmed to the New York Times that she was yet to hear from the tech billionaire. Fingers crossed.
