Amid the Kensington Palace photo kill notice drama, Kate has apologized to the public.
Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day Photo Sparks Uproar Online
Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo was expected to combat some conspiracy theories about her ongoing recovery. But unfortunately, the picture has only made the rumors worse. The whole affair took a new twist on Monday when Kate posted a picture of Kate and her three children on Instagram.
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continuous support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C,” the caption read.
Several publications, including the Associated Press, shared the picture. However, things soon turned weird when these publications took the photo down and issued a “kill notice” to media organizations worldwide. In a notice from the Associated Press, they claimed someone had edited the picture from the original.
“AP initially published the photo, which was issued by Kensington Palace. But AP later retracted the image because, at closer inspection, it appeared the source had manipulated the image,” the notice read.
They backed their words with proof, noting the picture showed an inconsistency in the placement of Princess Charlotte’s left hand. Another professional photographer said the same thing, revealing that it was most likely due to Photoshop.
