What’s a medieval RPG without a brothel? And in Dragon’s Dogma 2, it isn’t there just to get you to snicker; it does serve a function. It offers pretty useful buffs, as long as you’re willing to pay the price (and it’s a steep one). Ran by the lovely Wilhelmina, the Rose Chateau is only accessible to those carrying a Myrmecolean Card. So, if you’d like to roll around in the hay with her courtesans in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need permission to enter the brothel first.

You’d think the Rose Chateau would be found in a seedy part of Vernworth, but it’s actually located in the Noble Quarter. As it turns out, the Rose Chateau isn’t your typical rinky-dink brothel, but a high-quality establishment, and considering the prices, it’s no surprise only the rich can afford it.

Now, if you hardly touch the main story in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Rose Chateau will be inaccessible to you unless you have the Myrmecolean Card. Luckily, you get the card really early on, during the main quest The Stolen Throne — one of several quests Captain Brant gives you to unravel the mystery of the fake Arisen.

The Rose Chateau is split into three floors, with the first two floors accessible to those with the Myrmecolean Card. It’ll cost you 20,000 gold for their services. However, the courtesans on the third floor cost 30,000 gold and only accept those with the Platinum Myrmecolean Card, which you can purchase for 48,000 gold after you’ve used their services enough.

If you were hoping for a spicy scene like those in Baldur’s Gate 3, you won’t find it here. It’s a quick scene of your character and the courtesan sitting at the edge, then it cuts to black. However, the next morning you gain three buffs:

  • Strength Boost: You’ll deal more physical damage.
  • Defense Boost: Take less damage.
  • Recovery Boost: Your loss gauge will increase at a slower pace.

If you have access to the top floor, you’ll get two additional buffs to your stamina and magick. You can gain similar buffs from eating at a campsite in DD2, so it doesn’t seem all that worth it. And the buffs last just as long — an entire day.
