The Witcher 4 Seems Bigger Than Cyberpunk 2077 While The Witcher Remake Will Take Its Time

More time in the oven.

CD Projekt Red is hard at work on a handful of titles simultaneously and has given a progress update on all of them. The update also shows that there are a lot more people working on The Witcher 4 than any CDPR game in the past, which likely means that the sequel to the legendary Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will even leave Cyberpunk 2077 in the dust in terms of scale and quality.

Internally referred to as Project Polaris, The Witcher 4 is being developed in-house and has reached the pre-production stage. CD Projekt Red has over 600 employees working on all of its games, and over 400 are working on The Witcher 4, aka Project Polaris, exclusively.

What Is CD Projekt Red Working On Other Than The Witcher 4 In The Update?

Another Witcher project being worked on, project Sirius, is being developed by The Molasses Flood and supported by CD Projekt Red. The game will be a mix of a single-player and a multiplayer experience and will differ from what the series has looked like in the past. According to the update, Sirius has also reached the pre-production phase. The final project in Geralt’s universe, The Witcher Remake, has taken a back seat in terms of priority and is still in the concept stage. It is being worked on by Fool’s Theory and won’t see the light of day for a very long time.

The focus of the studio is, of course, the sequel to The Witcher 3, but other projects are still slowly trudging along. The sequel to the extremely successful Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed in-house as well and is still in the concept phase. As for the unannounced new IP that CDPR hinted at, it is also in the conceptual stage and will likely show up on next-generation consoles like other games on the list that are in the concept stage.
