This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The mission is clear when in Content Warning, you must head out to the old world while either by yourself or ideally with friends, get some jump scares on camera, and then make sure you return home alive to upload your findings. But as all successful content creators know, your face is also your brand. Here’s how to change your face in Content Warning, as well as whether or not you can unlock new ones.

How to Customize Your Face in Content Warning

You can change your face in Content Warning by heading to the monitor in your room and then interacting with it with E. After doing so, the game will allow you to change your face’s color, font size, and expression. The latter can be based on up to three keys. You will also be able to rotate your inputs to get the perfect face on and surprise either your friends or other players with an assembly they have never seen before. Just make sure not to be offensive.

Can You Get New Faces?

Although Content Warning does not allow you to unlock new faces —which is understandable given how you can make hundreds by using its supported keyboard combinations— Steam user Dabestbro posted a guide showcasing a way to add non-originally-supported custom faces made by both you and the community to the game. As instructed in their guide, you can add new faces to Content Warning by doing the following:

  • Change your face at least once in-game.
  • Head to Registry Editor and then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
  • Select SOFTWARE.
  • Head to Landfall Games before selecting Content Warning.
  • Once at Content Warning, find a text file called FaceTex_h3883740665 and select Modify before putting the code for your desired face there.
  • Enter any lobby.

For a look at how to create your own face and to check out a constantly updated list of faces made by the game’s community, I highly recommend that you check out Dabestbro’s guide on Steam.

You can play Content Warning right now on PC.
