This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Getting as far as you can in A Dusty Trip is a juggling act. You need water for your radiator, gas as a fuel, and oil for your engine, not to mention food to keep you full. It is a Roblox survival game, after all. With a challenging experience like A Dusty Trip comes clever ways to exploit the loop, like driving a car without an engine or fuel and water, for that matter.

A Dusty Trip: How to Drive Without Gas, Engine, or Water

To get started, choose your preferred vehicle: van or sedan. It doesn’t matter what you choose as the trick works for both, but the van is the superior option because of its available space.

Now, build most of the car as usual, just leave out the engine, gas and radiator. Do be sure to attach doors, though. There’s always a sandstorm before the first stop and if your car doesn’t have doors, you’ll take too much damage and die. Also, release the handbrake while you’re at it.

Grab a small object. I’ve only been able to make the trick work with the gas canister and the television in the back room. While holding the object, get in the car, extend your hand (using the mouse wheel on PC), then maneuver it to the back of the car.

You’ll have to fiddle with it a bit, but once you find the sweet spot, the collision between the object and your car will make it move forward. You just have to worry about steering!

A Dusty Trip: How to Perform the Fly Glitch

How about a bonus trick? What if I told you, you could travel A Dusty Trip without a car? I don’t mean just walking, but by flying! The physics gets pretty weird in the game, which is how you’re able to drive around without an engine, fuel or water. You can take advantage of the same physics to fly like a bird.

At the start of your journey in A Dusty Trip, grab a flat object that has collision. I chose to use the outhouse door at the back of the garage for its generous surface area.

Now, with the object laid flat, stand on the board, grab it with your hand and tilt the camera up. In doing so, you’ll “lift” yourself into the air. To move forward, start walking but make sure you keep a hold of the board so you don’t walk off the board. If you sprint, you’ll go faster!

The one problem with the Fly Glitch in A Dusty Trip is the sandstorm that always spawns before the first stop. Without a car for protection, you’ll take damage, which is why I tend to just attach the outhouse door to my car and use the trick to fly ahead.
