Have you heard the phrase “My body is a temple”? The latest Once Human game embodies that due to its survival mechanics. If you didn’t know, this title tasks players with braving a world full of Stardust and strange monsters. While you can solve almost everything with a bullet to the face, your character must be in good condition. One of the things you must manage in the early hours of Once Human is getting water. While it sounds easy, it is more challenging than you think and can lead to players dying from dehydration.
How To Obtain Purified Water in Once Human
You’ll notice a few icons above your character’s HP bar. From left to right, you have stamina, sanity, thirst, and hunger; we’ll focus on thirst today. To satiate it, you must get purified water in Once Human, and thankfully, there are a few ways to do that.
Looting
The easiest but most RNG way to get water is by looting. When exploring, you can head to any of the map’s towns and open every container you see. There’s a chance to get boiled water. However, this isn’t the best method. Eventually, you’ll run out of boiled water and must look for alternate ways.
Rain collectors
Before you unlock any of the expensive water pumps in the game, the easiest way to get this liquid in Once Human is by building a Rainwater Collection System. These are the items you need:
- Logs x30
- Shabby Fabric x15
- Rubber x5
Once you have the ingredients, place a foundation outside of your home and build the machine. All you must do is wait for a rainy day and collect the water afterward.
Boiling Water
The next way to get water in Once Human is by boiling it. You might’ve noticed already that whenever you reach a lake or river, you get the option to drink from it. Refrain from doing so. You might satiate your thirst for a while, but it’ll hurt. Instead, you can grab the water and return it to your home, then craft a Stove to boil it. Here’s what you need for a Stove:
- Copper Ore x20
- Gravel x20
- Charcoal x30
- Metal Scraps x10
Once you have that, place the Stove inside your base, interact with it, and start boiling. To get purified water, you need Dirty Water x3 and Logs x3.
These are your best options to get water during the early hours of Once Human. Down the road, there are better but more expensive ways, such as water pumps. However, if you’re starting and don’t mind doing some dirty water gathering, boiling is your best option. So, craft your stove, get some rain collectors, and don’t forget to hydrate yourself every day in the game.
