With the release of Destiny 2’s Into the Light update, we learned that there’s a new feature called Weapon Attunement. Weapon Attunement is a whole new thing for Guardians, but it doesn’t make it any less interesting, and more importantly, useful. Attunement completely transforms the grueling process in which we farm weapons for God Rolls, and it can make everything a whole lot easier for us. In the weeks before Into the Light released, we were given small hints here and there about what it does, but now it’s time to dive a bit deeper. Let’s take a look at how Weapon Attunement works in Destiny 2.

Attunement is changing the way we farm weapons in Destiny 2 in quite a big way by increasing your chances of getting a certain weapon over others. However, currently you can only use Attunement with Brave weapons, that that doesn’t mean things won’t change in the future.

Attunement gives you a much higher chance of getting a weapon of your choosing from Onslaught, though the chances that you’ll actually get that weapon aren’t 100%. There’s only a 50% chance that you’ll get your chosen weapon, but that’s still quite a bit higher than any other instance.

Before you can attune to a weapon, you must unlock it by completing a weapon quest given by Arcite 99-40. If you’ve already completed the Feats of Bravery or the Stranger Danger quest, then you probably already know all about weapon quests in Into the Light.

After you’ve unlocked the weapon you’d like to Attune to, you can Interact with the various Holo-Shaxx rooms within the Hall of Champions. Each Holo-Shaxx is designated to one of the twelve Brave arsenal weapons.

Once you’ve Attuned to a weapon, you can easily break your Attunement to it by interacting with the same Holo-Shaxx again. Because of that, you can easily switch back and forth between weapons after you’ve obtained your God Rolls for one of them. However, it’s important to know that you can only have one weapon Attunement at a time.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
