If you’re all caught up with Jujutsu Kaisen and can’t get enough of the anime, Jujutsu Shenanigans can scratch that itch. Being a strictly PVP Roblox game, its abilities and skills are bombastic, mimicking the high-octane action of the anime and manga. And the fun part is getting to try out different characters. However, Jujutsu Shenanigans isn’t friendly to beginners, so it’s important to keep these essential tips in mind to ground and guide you into the game.

Make Some Quick Adjustments in Your Settings

Before you do anything, you need to root around in the main menu and make some quick adjustments. You can open the settings by selecting the teeny-tiny cog in the top-left corner. Now, everyone who plays Jujutsu Shenanigans has these two settings on at all times, but I’m throwing in an extra one, too:

  • Turn on “Auto Use”
  • Turn on “Auto Run”
  • Turn off “Shadows”

First off, there’s never a time you shouldn’t be running. Turning off shadows just gives you some extra performance, allocating those resources to keeping your framerate stable. And lastly, “auto use” makes it so abilities are immediately used when you press the key, rather than doing it manually.

Get Familiar With the Controls

With every game you try on Roblox, it’s best you get familiar with the controls. You’d be surprised by how many new players join Jujutsu Shenanigans and don’t know you can block attacks and even dash in different directions. I know it sounds silly, but it needs to be said, so know the controls by heart:

  • W, A, S, D: Movement
  • Left Click: Attack (consecutive attacks make a combo)
  • #1, 2, 3, 4: Skills
  • Q: Dash (Will dash in the direction you’re moving)
  • F: Block
  • R: Use special skill
  • G: Use Awaken
  • Spacebar: Jump (can be used to wall jump)

Note that to use your Awaken special ability, the bar above your skills needs to be filled first, which does so naturally while you’re fighting.

Play Every Character

It goes without saying, but to reach the upper echelons of Jujutsu Shenanigans, to rise above a lowly beginner, you have to get good with every character. By no means is the game like, say, Pokemon, where it’s just rock-paper-scissors, but every character has its strengths and weaknesses.

For example, Vessel’s counter ability, Manji Kick, can counter most skills in the game but not all. If you’re having trouble against a Vessel player, try playing as the Honored One and use your Awakened abilities. It’s totally okay to have a favorite, but you may need to switch it up to soft-counter other characters.

Start With 1v1, Not Open-World

The first time you join Jujutsu Shenanigans, you’re immediately tossed into this open-world city with a bunch of other players. It’s a little jarring, especially when, nine times out of ten, you’ll be attacked right from the get-go before you’ve got your bearings. What the game doesn’t tell you is that there are two 1v1 modes: ranked and casual.

In the top-left corner, there’s a little sword icon. If you select it twice, it’ll teleport you to the Lobby. From there, you’re in a much bigger server, giving a better opportunity to find some other new players to practice with. When you get better, you can take it more seriously by starting a ranked match!

Learn and Practice Advanced Techniques and Combos

There are a handful of mechanics that Jujutsu Shenanigans doesn’t really elaborate on, like combos and blocking. Against more experienced opponents, it’s important you know the ins and outs of combat.

For example, when you’re blocking, you always block everything in front of you, not behind you. That means your back is vulnerable, so it’s important to always be facing your attacker. As the attacker, you can get past someone’s guard by dashing behind them, then turning quickly to attack.

As for combos, you have two types: a melee combo and a skill combo. If you mash the attack button, you’ve got a simple combo. However, your skills are designed to be strung together in a specific manner, like Vessel’s 1-2-3 combo!
