Whether you were a Patriots fan or not, you had to admit that last Sunday’s Superbowl, was one epic battle… one for the history books you might say. This Sunday, however, another epic battle will begin with Rick Grimes and company ready to fight for freedom against the evil Negan. This Sunday, the Walking Dead returns.

At the close of the midseason finale, we saw a Rick Grimes finally ready to fight back against Negan and the Saviors. Daryl escaped, Spencer has died and a pair of mysterious boots appeared attached to an unknown wearer. “Rock in the Road” is the first episode for the second half and we can expect to be on the recruiting path. There’s no question that Rick’s task of recruiting won’t be easy. While the trailer showed us Rick seeking an audience with Ezekiel, how willing would he be to join Rick’s fight? After all, the residents of the Kingdom are unaware of the Saviors and Negan. Furthermore, what challenge will Rick face at the Hilltop? If the first half of the season showed us anything, it’s that Gregory can’t be depended on.

One of the biggest cliffhangers of the midseason finale was the boots… boots that appeared when Rick and Aaron were offloading supplies from the boat and at the very end of the episode after the credits. Much speculation has been in the air as to just who, these boots belong too. Some have said they belong to Dwight. Dwight may finally be fed up with Negan and ready to defect to Alexandria. Others have suggested that it could be a member of Oceanside. While nothing is certain for now, many are hoping to see the mysterious figure revealed.

The other wildcard of this second half is Morgan and Carol. Neither of these characters is aware of the deaths of Glenn and Abraham. Carol has turned into a recluse and wants to be left alone. Would this potential news reignite her will to fight? What about Morgan? Morgan resorted to killing a Savior to save Carol. Perhaps Morgan will now turn around and become a one man army. We’ll have to tune in to find out.

Will you be watching this Sunday’s The Walking Dead? If so, share your predictions below for what you think may happen in this episode. Our full review for this episode will be posted shortly after the episode airs. In the meantime, check out our review for John Wick 2. Be sure to catch it this weekend.
