After you have finished Lab Rat’s “Secret Compassion” Task, you’ll unlock a new mission from her. This time you will need to persuade some locals to join your force by bringing them some money to a secret location. It’s pretty much just a fetch quest where you grab an item and bring it somewhere else. Completing the Gray Zone Warfare “Native Negotiations” Task is quite straightforward and our guide will ensure your operation goes smoothly.
Gray Zone Warfare: Native Negotiations Guide and Objectives
To complete the “Native Negotiations” Task you need to bring a Briefcase to a designated white truck in a car repair shop. The Briefcase will always appear inside the tent near your spawn location but the shop will located in a different town, depending on your Faction.
First, after accepting the Task from Lab Rat, look for the Command Tent next to the landing pad at your Faction’s Base Camp. On the table, along with radio equipment, you should find an interactable gray-colored briefcase; hold the F key to grab the item.
You can check your inventory to make sure you have taken the important task item. Lab Rat said that you’ll need to “ensure your survival” when running the operation. In case you failed to do so — aka got shot and died — simply restart the Task by selecting the End Deployment option. Try removing all your gear first if you put the Briefcase inside the SafeLock.
Afterward, take the item to Hoang‘s Repair Shop which is located in a town specific to your Faction alignment. Unfortunately, the place isn’t marked on your map, unlike most important buildings. Do not worry though, we have listed where the shop can be found for each Faction below. Keep in mind that a small number of armed mooks will be protecting the area, so be ready for a firefight.

Once the coast is clear, head inside Hoang’s Repair Shop and find a white truck cab. Look underneath it and put the Briefcase there. With that, open the Vendor menu and press the “Complete” button in the “Native Negotiations” Task. Now you’re ready to meet Laya Hoang the Artisan and unlock the next set of Tasks.
