The announcement made it clear last year that we will not be getting round-based zombies in MW3 at launch. However, YouTuber channel GameRevolution which had reports from the developers, leaked the info that round-based zombies are somehow returning in MWZ. But it won’t be the same as we know it. This is while recent leaks are all pointing toward the same direction, and it seems like it’s going to happen as soon as the next Modern Warfare 3 Seasonal update.
Round-Based Zombies Might Return In A Different Form
While there’s no 100% fact here, there are leaks on the MW3 Season 3 Reloaded by dataminers about an “Unstable Dark Aether Rift.” Many YouTubers believe that this means we’re going to receive a round-based MW3 Zombies mode map inside one of the Dark Aether rifts, but in a limited condition.
The files also show that there’s only one more story cutscene that’s coming in Season 5 of MWZ, which paves the way for that unstable round-based Dark Aether rift to arrive in MWZ Zombies Season 4. This will probably be an experience like what we had in Vanguard, where you travel through rifts and survive a couple of rounds inside. To make things even more interesting here, you’ll also receive rewards for beating the rounds, which could be a weapon camo, blueprint, or an item.
So far there’s been no official announcement for the return of the round based zombies in MW3. Rumor has it that after the reveal of Black Ops VI, more teasers and in-game advertisement begins in MWZ, highlighting the return of the classic Call of Duty Zombies experience.
