Tom Selleck is unhappy about CBS canceling the hit show Blue Bloods after 14 seasons. At nearly 80, he has remained a working actor for the past 6 decades. Tom made his first television appearance at age 20 when he appeared on The Dating Game. Despite not winning the girl, Selleck has remained a TV and movie staple for the majority of his life.
Blue Bloods Cancelled, Leaving Tom Selleck Out of a Job
So when he received the heartbreaking news that his long-running hit television series had been given the axe, he felt many emotions. First, he was devastated, then angry with the network, and now panicked.
TMZ reports that during a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Tom Selleck shared his many thoughts about CBS canceling the Blue Bloods series. It was easy to tell that the actor was clearly disappointed, but Selleck said there was more to it than just disappointment.
Tom Selleck Fears Losing His Home
The television star reveals he is living in fear following the show’s cancelation. He expresses his growing concern, saying that now that he is unemployed, he fears losing his 63-acre ranch home. While many of Tom Selleck’s fans might think he is joking, he lets it be known that he is very serious.
During the interview, Tom Selleck states that he hopes he can soon land another acting job so he can afford to keep his home. When correspondent Tracy Smith asks Tom if he is serious, the actor’s demeanor changes somewhat. He is a little agitated and responds, ” You’re GD, right!”
He tells her his life is no different from anyone else’s. The reality of having a consistent paycheck is a genuine concern for him. Tom recently published his Tell-All memoir book, “You Never Know.” The Magnum PI star admits that he is very set in his ways and dislikes change.
Because of his inability to change, he has never sent a text or email and relies solely on his wife, Jill, to handle all forms of digital communications. However, that may have to change, especially if Tom plans on continuing his long-running career for a few more years.
