Despite all the criticism the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle have faced these past several months, Prince Harry has seen some success with how the Invictus Games went this year. While most of the Royal Family avoided Harry’s event in London, his uncle Earl Spencer and aunt Lady Jane attended to support their nephew’s endeavors. This encounter with his relatives likely sparked hope for the prince to reconcile with his other close family members, as he wants to “see more of them,” namely Prince William and King Charles.
Prince William and King Charles Are Reportedly “Resisting Reconciliation” With Prince Harry
In an interview with Times Radio, journalist and royal expert Jennie Bond stated that ” Harry was demanding an apology” from his family early on in the ongoing feud. However, “the tables have turned,” with “messages coming from Harry’s side are that he’s ready at least to forgive and that he loves his family.” Now, King Charles and Prince William are the ones “resisting reconciliation at this point,” according to Bond.
The royal expert goes on to report that, with all that’s going on with the Duke of Cornwall at the moment, he doesn’t “give Harry a thought as far as William is concerned.” Prince William has been under a lot of pressure dealing with his wife’s and father’s cancer treatment, along with all the responsibilities that come with being the next heir to the throne.
Bond says that Harry is so far out of Prince William’s concerns that he’s basically “disowned” his own brother. William doesn’t want to “waste his emotional energy on a brother who is so estranged and hurt him so badly.”
Whether it be Harry’s ‘royal snub’ situation or Meghan Markle’s curious marketing blunders with her brand, jams, or Netflix series with her husband, it’s hard to see the general public get behind the Duke of Sussex’s endeavors to reconcile with his family. It seems more likely that Prince William and King Charles will need to make the first move if anything is to be resolved in this ongoing royal rivalry.
