Dylan Minnette is best known for his breakout role in the hit show 13 Reasons Why. However, he is now taking a break from acting to pursue a career in music. The actor is the frontman for an up-and-coming alternative indie band called Wallows. The actor is loving his time in the music industry as the band has reached a new level of popularity recently. This new fame came after the release of their latest album, “Model.”
According to Popculture, the 27-year-old recently opened up about stepping away from acting on the Zach Sang Show podcast. Furthermore, Minnette revealed that he had lost his passion for acting.
“I was on 13 Reasons Why, and it was really popular. It definitely reached a peak in what I’ve had in acting,” Minnette explained on the podcast. “But it also started to feel like a bit of a job. I was in a very fortunate position; it was always fun for me and always really inspiring, but then it was just starting to feel like just a job.”
Dylan Minnette also played a significant role in the Scream revival and the Hulu drama The Dropout. However, the former actor now puts all his energy into his music. Minnette sings and plays guitar alongside his bandmates Cole Preston and Braeden Lemasters.
The trio formed Wallows in 2011 and has since released multiple albums and played venues such as Coachella in 2022. As they gain popularity, Minnette wants to take Wallows “as far as he possibly can.” He is extremely passionate about the band, and fans love that about the artist.
Lately, Dylan Minnette has been inspired to keep Wallows going. With the group about to head out on tour, fans are all extremely excited to see them live. As for acting, Minnette may return to it someday, although it probably won’t be anytime soon.
