Furious 7 reached a new height for the Fast & Furious franchise as it opened to a massive $143.6 million domestically and opened to $384 million worldwide. The movie broke multiple records including biggest opening weekend in April and ranks ninth in biggest opening weekends of all time.

The movie opened to $15.8 on Thursday night which had early trackings in the $120 million range for the opening though due to fantastic critical reception coming from the movie as well as the movie being marketed as the final in the series with the tagline of “One Last Ride” pushed the Fast & Furious movie to new heights. Furious 7 also marked the final appearance of Paul Walker as he pasted away in November 2013 which also brought out viewers.

Furious 7 is now guaranteed to reach one billion worldwide as it will make at least $360 million domestically as the next couple weeks offer little to no competition for the fast and furious movie. On the high end of the spectrum, Furious 7 could reach $420 million domestically.

With a massive $143 million opening, the rest of the movies took a hit. In second at the box office, Home brought it $27 million (Down 47%)  bringing in its total to $95 million. Home should close with around $150 million.

Get Hard took a huge hit this weekend as it dropped 62% and brought it $12.9 million bringing its total to $57 million. The Will Ferrel and Kevin Hart comedy should finish around $80 million as Furious 7 will dominate the rest of the month.

Cinderella brought in $10.3 million bringing its total to $167 million. Insurgent dropped to fifth as it brought it $10 million, the young adult sequel to last years Divergent also pasted the $100 million mark this weekend with a total of $103 million.

In other new releases, Woman in Gold starring Helen Mirren & Ryan Reynolds opened at the seventh spot with $2 million. This is a great debut as the movie only debuted at 258 theatres.

Coming out next weekend is the romance The Longest Ride in wide release. Ex Machina and Ryan Gosling’s directed Lost River will be in limited release next week. Which movies are you excited this summer?
