Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift‘s feud erupted once again after the crooner threw shade at the reality star while performing at Wembley Stadium. Nearly a decade after Kim reared her head into Taylor’s beef with Kanye and directed the ire her way, Taylor remains reluctant to let her off easily. The crooner, who admitted her 2009 incident with Kanye and the resulting feud took a mental toll on her has targeted the former couple in several tracks over the years, albeit subtly. Fans observed the most recent lyrical jab in the lyrics of the song, thanK you aIMee from her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets.
Aside from the capitalized words in the diss track conveniently spelling out “KIM,” the lyrics referenced certain incidents linked to the reality star, including North West’s viral performance of Shake It Off. Hence, when Taylor Swift debuted the diss track with a speech slamming people who talk “sh-t” at her Eras tour concert in Wembley, fans easily merged the dots.
Taylor Swift Trolls Kim Kardashian Before 90k Fans
Taylor, who stormed London as part of the International leg of her Eras tour, performed for her excited fans in the fully packed, 90-thousand-capacity Wembley stadium. The crooner took time out to appreciate her fans, and reminisce on how far she’s come. She then chipped in,
“On the other hand, it really makes me think about how every time someone talks sh-t, it just makes me work even harder and it makes me even tougher. So, it also makes me incredibly thankful for those people.”
Right after her two-edged tribute at Wembley, Taylor Swift jumped into her next song performance, which turned out to be thanK you aIMee. The smooth transition made it glaring Taylor Swift’s subtle roast was in fact directed at her old nemesis, Kim Kardashian.
Although their issue dates back to Kanye interrupting Taylor’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs, Kim only became a main player in 2016. Still married to Kanye at the time, the SKIMS CEO leaked recordings to prove her husband sought Taylor’s permission before using the lines, “I made that b**** famous,” in his hit track, Famous.
When the original recording of the conversation eventually surfaced, it became apparent Kim doctored her version to vindicate her man, and ultimately discredit Taylor. While Kim Kardashian never apologized for her involvement, Taylor Swift has ensured the incident continues to hunt her (Kim), whether or not she digs it.
