Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree added numerous Ashes of War you can attach to your weapons and shields, one of which is Rolling Sparks. It fires a cloud of perfume, then explodes, causing damage in an area. Personally, I’ve been having a lot of fun with them, considering they add a bit more utility and reason to use the perfume bottles. It’s like a miniature nuke, albeit small, but still very powerful.
How to Get Ash of War: Rolling Sparks in Elden Ring
The good news is, Ashes of War: Rolling Sparks is pretty easy to get, assuming you make it to Scadu Altus, either through the secret path below Castle Ensis or through Castle Ensis and defeating Rellana. You then travel up towards the Shadow Keep’s main gate, which is where we’ll start our journey.
Before you start, grab yourself a ranged weapon or some kind of magic. You’ll need it because you’ll be hunting a flying scarab beetle. Afterward, fast-travel to the Shadow Keep Main Gate site of grace.
Now, backtrack up the elevator and exit the Shadow Keep. You’ll see an enemy camp to your left and a furnace golem in the distance. Head towards the enemy camp, where you’ll find a group of perfumers and a fire dog. I suggest clearing out the camp so they don’t bother you.
With the camp cleared, you’ll see a hill that leads up to a small rise. If you look up, you’ll see a flying scarab. That’s the one holding the Rolling Sparks Ash of War in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Simply snipe it from the sky and the ability is yours!
To equip Ashes of War: Rolling Sparks, you need a perfume bottle weapon, like the Firespark Perfume Bottle, which you can find just outside Castle Ensis.
The neat part about Rolling Sparks is that the ability adopts the damage type of your perfume bottles. For example, the Firespark Perfume Bottle deals fire damage, whereas the Lightning Perfume Bottle deals lightning damage.
