With such a stylish city to explore and many foes to beat, Proxies worldwide wonder if ZZZ has any co-op mode. In true HoYoverse fashion, it does. However, don’t expect it to be as big as the one in Genshin Impact. Proxies in the same region can join each other to tackle certain activities. All you must do is progress through the story a bit to unlock this mode and invite your friends to join you for some New Eridu shenanigans.
How To Play Co-op in Zenless Zone Zero
ZZZ‘s co-op mode isn’t as big as Genshin‘s. It’s more akin to the one we’ve seen in Honkai Star Rail. Players can only join each other for two activities: Arcade Mini-games and Reckless Challenges. The former are retro-style games where a group of up to four players can challenge each other or even play as a team. The latter are weekly bosses, and in this instance, you can actually play alongside others in real-time. To unlock them, you must keep progressing through the game’s story until both functions become available, with the Mini-games unlocking first and Reckless Challenges unlocking once you reach certain Inter-Knot levels.
How To Invite Other Players
If you want to invite other players into ZZZ‘s co-op mode, it is quite easy. If you want to do some Arcade Mini-games, click on the “+” symbol before starting a match to invite your friends. Starting a game without doing that will begin a matchmaking process. For Reckless Challenges, you must first add a Proxie as a friend. You can do so by going to your profile and clicking on Add Friends. Knowing the Proxy’s UID is necessary for this. Once you have it, you can invite your friends by clicking on Multiplayer Mode on the Reckless Challenge screen.
While the co-op mode in ZZZ isn’t as elaborate as we would’ve liked, it is nice that there’s a small opportunity to play alongside others in combat. It is uncertain if HoYoverse will expand this mode in the future, but being able to tackle a boss with our friends is already a huge win. So, if you want to beat your enemies faster or enjoy some light-hearted mini-games, don’t hesitate to invite your fellow Proxies over.
