Kim Cattrall may have a long resume when it comes to her TV and movie appearances. However, she’ll forever be known as Samantha Jones to Sex and the City fans. The actress played the iconic characters for several years on the HBO series as well as the sequel movies. However, when it was announced the show was returning for a sequel series titled And Just Like That, Cattrall didn’t rejoin the original cast. Sadly, many fans weren’t surprised. This was mostly due to her feud with and co-star Sarah Jessica Parker over the years.
Recently, it was rumored that Kim Cattrall may return for Season 3 of And Just Like That. In Season 2, fans were thrilled to see Samantha Jones on the show when Cattrall made a cameo during a phone call with Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw. Speculation that Cattrall could return for more appearances immediately began to circulate. However, she’s setting the record straight on the rumors.
Kim Cattrall Won’t Return for Season 3 of ‘And Just Like That
According to Life and Style, Cattrall won’t be reprising the role of Samantha for And Just Like That Season 3. After seeing a tweet claiming that she may be back for the upcoming season, the actress debunked the reports. “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” she responded to a tweet about her possible return.
Previously it was alleged that Cattrall could return in some capacity. However, it was claimed that she would film her scenes in London as to not come face to face with Parker.
“She doesn’t do fake friendships, she’s not going to sit around and pretend to be best friends with Sarah, even if she does take the paycheck,” an insider dished.
In the past, Kim Cattrall admitted that Sarah Jessica Parker could have been “nicer” to her during their time working together. She also said that she was bullied when she didn’t want to do a third Sex and the City movie. Meanwhile, rumors of SJP earning more money and being given a producer credit angering Cattrall have also circulated, per Rolling Stone.
It was nice to see Kim Cattrall back as Samantha in Season 2 of And Just Like That. However, it seems that she’s not planning on reuniting with Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the cast for a full-time gig.
