One quest in Once Human will have you paying a fortuneteller to know your fate, and he has both good news and bad news. Before you know it, however, you need to know how to proceed with the “On Joy and Sorrow” side quest for Once Human. While we’re no fortunetellers, we know you can solve this one, especially with the help of this guide. Here’s how to quickly and easily complete the “On Joy and Sorrow” quest in Once Human.

If you haven’t found this one yet– and I recommend you do find it because the rewards are good, then you can find the “On Joy and Sorrow” quest in the Brewery Estate in Chalk Peak (1987,-3105).

The quest specifically recommends that you be at least Level 25 but this is actually quite misleading. The quest’s second half will take you to a Level 45 area. Also, Chalk Peak is a Level 30+ area anyway. So be at least Level 40 with at least a Tier IV gear (Tier V gear is advised).

In any case, there’s a nearby Teleportation Tower just south of the Brewery Estate, so accessing the On Joy and Sorrow quest is easy.

What to Give to the Fortuneteller?

Once you start the “On Joy and Sorrow” quest, a Fortuneteller will greet you and ask for some form of payment before they reveal your fate. To be more specific, the Fortuneteller will ask for three pieces of the crops or plants as some kind of payment.

You don’t need to give anything fancy, thankfully. There are numerous pumpkins and potatoes all over the Brewery Estate. Pick up any three of those and give it to the Fortuneteller. There are also several Saffron plants scattered around the Brewery Estate if you want to give something fancier.

Once you’ve given the crops, ask for both the “Good News” and the “Bad News.” Afterward, the quest will point you to Fort Eyrie in Red Sands, which is a Level 45 enemy base filled with Vulture bandits. So be ready for a tough fight.

Climb Through Fort Eyrie for the Reward Chest

From the Brewery Estate, head to the bottom of Fort Eyrie and fight through the Vulture gang members. You need to climb up to the top of the Fort Eyrie Base with several structures, towers, and the building that houses the reward chest for the “On Joy and Sorrow” quest.

If you’re starting from the base of Fort Eyrie, look for ladders (and avoid going inside the tunnel). Keep going up until you come across several makeshift towers and the main Vulture base. While you’re at it, look for the Rift Anchor and crates in the area along with the reward.
