The latest project from Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2, has unfortunately been delayed until spring of next year. The newest addition the Red Dead series was announced late last year and fans could not be more excited. They hype, if possible, grew even more when a teaser trailer announced that the game would be available in the fall of 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Rockstar announced the delay on their website earlier today along with a few beautiful screenshots of the game:
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.
These beautiful screenshots are a fun treat, and while I am ecstatic that they are taking their time with Red Dead Redemption 2, it still is not enough to cure the ache left by Rockstar’s delay. Despite these new screenshots, details are still pretty scarce when it comes to Rockstar’s first title for the current console generation. As of right now, the only thing known for sure is that the PS4 version of the title will have some exclusive content. Hopefully, we can look forward to seeing an actual gameplay trailer at E3 this summer.
