Farewell Green Hell, Creepy Jar is Taking Us to Space With StarRupture

Adapt, survive, and kill bugs

Given how bloated the survival genre is nowadays, it’s only normal for people to look for a different experience that isn’t set in a high-fantasy world of sorts with magic. Now, I don’t want to make it look as if I don’t like that setting. I like it, but it gets repetitive. Thankfully, Creepy Jar has brought us a fantastic survival game in the shape of Green Hell, which broke the mold for a while. Now, the studio is back at it with StarRupture, which finally came out of the shadows with an official gameplay reveal.

StarRupture - GAMEPLAY REVEAL

As you can see in the gameplay reveal trailer, StarRupture will take a first-person approach in this space survival adventure. Furthermore, there will be a bigger emphasis on exploration, base-building, and combat, all of which you can observe in the above video.

The one thing that caught my attention, besides the clear reference to managed democracy, was the planet just sending a casual heatwave toward the player. According to the official information, cycles on the planet will play a huge part in the overall gameplay.

Tasked with surviving the deadly waves of elementsโ€”not to mention facing down against hostile enemy monsters in tense combatโ€”each cycle spells destruction yet ushers in a new era of growth and rebuilding.

How far the system will go is still unknown, but we know the developers are great at delivering a proper survival experience. Furthermore, the atmospheric dangers added to the usual hunger and thirst levels, and the sprinkle of space bugs is amazing and scary, too.

While there isn’t a release date for StarRupture yet, the gameplay we saw so far is intriguing enough to make any survival game fan add this upcoming game to their wishlist. I know I will, especially because it is an explosive and fast-paced take on the genre, which I haven’t seen for a while. So, if you want a bit of fast combat paired with excellent base-building and atmospheric danger looming above you, you can’t miss StarRupture.
