Demi Moore has played many TV and movie roles throughout her 40-year career. Yet, there’s one role that beats out all of them: Grandma. The 61-year-old actress became a grandmother when her daughter Rumer Willis gave birth to daughter Louetta “Lou” Isley in April 2023.
Rumer is Moore’s eldest daughter. She and her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, have daughters, Scout and Tallulah. Lou’s arrival was a welcome addition to the family, which lit up around the toddler.
For Moore, she loves her new role as a doting grandmother. During a recent appearance on TODAY, the Ghost actress told Hoda Kotb “I love it,” when asked how she feels about being a grandma. The star went on to reveal her granddaughter’s sweet nickname for her.
I am ‘Yaya.’ And she is the cutest. Rumer just sent me a photo of her with spaghetti on her head.
New Grandma Demi Moore Isn’t Slowing Down
Family is a main priority for Moore, who always makes times for her daughters and her new granddaughter. The star’s Instagram page is often filled of photos of family gatherings and vacations. In August, family enjoyed a picnic during a music festival in Idaho, where baby Lou napped in Rumer’s arms.
Moore enjoyed the last days of summer because she has a busy schedule. Her new movie The Substance is set to be released on Sept. 20, and is already generating Oscar buzz.
Ageism has been an ongoing issue against women in Hollywood. But Demi is proving she’s still in demand and wants to prove that there are plenty of opportunities for women like her.
I really try to be as present in the moment as possible, and what I feel is an excitement of possibilities, that we’re defining a new – I don’t want to say generation – but we are what the future is for women.
As a mother of three daughters, the actress felt it was important to set an example.
