Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid were once one of Hollywood’s popular celebrity couples. The pair married in 1991 after meeting on the set of the movie D.O.A. three years earlier. In 1992, Ryan gave birth to the couple’s son, Jack Quaid. However, like many celebrity marriages, this one didn’t end happily. The couple separated in 2000 amid reports of the actress’ affair with Proof of Life co-star Russell Crowe. A year later, Ryan and Quaid officially divorced.
As with many divorced couples, the pair tried to keep things civil as they co-parented. But now that their son is grown and starting his own career, tensions are mounting between the exes.
Meg Ryan Furious That Dennis Quaid is Taking Credit For Jack Quaid’s Career
Like many celebrity kids, Jack Quaid decided to follow in his famous parents’ footsteps. He had a tough road breaking into the acting business, but he’s now one of Hollywood’s rising stars. His acting credits include The Hunger Games, Scream, and last year’s award-winning blockbuster Oppenheimer.
Nobody is prouder than his parents. Dennis is always gushing about his son’s rising success and he did everything to support Jack. Yet, The Substance star’s comments are angering his ex-wife, according to In Touch Weekly. A source tells the magazine that “comments like the ones Dennis recently made absolutely drive Meg up the wall because of everything she has done for Jack over the years.“
The insider reveals that it was Meg who helped get Jack’s foot in the door.
Anybody who knows Meg knows she is the one who put about a decade into helping Jack become a sought after actor and a bona fide TV star. It’s still tough for Meg and Dennis to have a polite conversation about anything. When nobody cared about this kid or even wanted to meet with him, Meg was the one who picked up the phone and pitched Jack to her contact, not Dennis.
If anyone has a right to brag about helping their son’s career, it’s the Sleepless in Seattle actress.
It’s absolutely absurd to see Dennis take any credit for Jack’s success when Meg was fully the architect of it and put her own interests aside to help Jack get on his feet in Hollywood, starting more than ten years ago.
While Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid fight over who’s responsible for helping their son’s career, Jack Quaid is busy with many projects. His next film Companion is scheduled for release in January 2025, and he’s currently filming the movie Novocaine.
