Koei Tecmo is one of the studios that has always delivered top-notch quality gameplay in all of its games, and Dynasty Warriors: Origins isn’t the exception. During the recent TGS 2024, Dynasty Warriors: Origins got a lengthy gameplay showcase. It includes intricate boss fights, a huge map to explore, and the chaotic battlefields we all love about the series. However, this time, the studio took it to new heights. The combat, movement, skills, and stages are looking better than ever before.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS - TGS2024 Gameplay Footage

If you haven’t watched the gameplay showcase, I’ve attached the TGS video above so you can see the slick moves Dynasty Warriors: Origins brings. While it was unveiled not long ago, players have already gotten a glimpse of what’s coming and the first impressions are highly positive.

The first takeaway from the showcase is map exploration. Veteran players should be familiar with it, but for new ones, you can expect a few RPG elements there, such as shops, crafting materials, and more. However, if fast-paced action is what you want, the battles are beyond impressive.

From what we’ve seen, battles have a similar structure of facing many enemies at a time with a few bosses thrown into the mix. However, these encounters look much more elaborate now. During the first boss fight, we can see a lot of mechanics that resemble those of Nioh or Wo Long, albeit with less difficulty. Furthermore, you can even use your companions to use some wild, destructive moves, as you can see by the end of the showcase.

We’ll likely get more information about Dynasty Warriors: Origins beyond what we’ve seen in TGS, but I just hope we get a demo soon because I can’t wait to get my hands on the game. The combat, the movement, and everything else look terrific. Also, the showcase likely only scratched the surface, so I imagine there’s more to experience.
